 The Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America, Inc. (also referred as AKKAOA) is a nationwide organization devoted to the promotion and welfare of the Alaskan Klee Kai (AKK), an Alaskan husky in miniature.  Explore the links to find out more information on the Association and the rare breed that is lovingly referred to as the AKK.

Following are the purposes that the Association subscribes to:

 to promote and improve knowledge of the Alaskan Klee Kai and dogs in general;

to do all possible to bring the natural qualities of the pure-bred Alaskan Klee Kai to perfection through selective breeding;

to encourage genetic awareness within the breed by occasionally polling members as to the problems they may have encountered and publishing a list or brochure from the information collected giving clinical signs, methods of diagnosis, age of onset, mode of inheritance and potential treatments and prognosis when these things are known;

to aid with every possible means in demonstrating the conspicuous ability of the Alaskan Klee Kai as a companion;

to encourage the organization of local Alaskan Klee Kai Clubs in those localities where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed to meet the requirements of The United Kennel Club;

to educate members and to urge breeders to adhere to the standard of the breed as approved by The United Kennel Club as a standard of excellence by which Alaskan Klee Kai may be judged;

to encourage sportsmanlike competition at all dog shows, and dog functions;

to conduct sanctioned matches and shows under the rules of The United Kennel Club.

The Alaskan Klee Kai Association of America gained recognition for the breed with the United Kennel Club (which is the second largest Registry in America) on January 1, 1997
