January, 2010:

• AKKAOA Facebook page was created

• AKK Pedigree Database has 1590 unique dogs & 342 registered users as reported in the AKK News

 

February 6-7, 2010:

• AKKAOA Multi-breed shows in Claremont, CA, hosted by the GWG

 

February 14, 2010:

• General meeting, topic was Altered classes at UKC shows are now licensed, and what this may mean for AKKAOA.  Currently we have 200 members.

 

March, 2010:

• AKK Pedigree Database reports 1617 dog in database

 

April 16-18, 2010:

• GWG for the 7th year was at Pet Expo in Costa Mesa, CA

 

May, 2010:

• AKK Pedigree Database has 1733 dogs listed in the database and well over 300 users from the U.S. and many other countries

• Started having Advertisements/ Brags/ Promotions by members in the newsletter

 

July 23-25, 2010:

• AKKAOA Specialty, Reunion picnic and Multi-Breed show in Claremont, CA

• Mary Jones awarded first Pet Award Winner (PAW) award. The PAW award is intended to be given to the member who best fits the profile of AKKAOA members who have shown a capacity for understanding the meaning and ideal of the workings of the AKKAOA, along with a spirit of fun and camaraderie.

• Installed Bonnie Gabriel as Membership Secretary and Sharon Hari as a Director

 

September, 2010:

• AKK Pedigree Database currently has 1781 unique AKK listed in the database and well over 455 users from all over the world

 

September 15th, 2010:

• Approved new regional group – Southern Steel Magnolias AKK (SSMAKK) in the southern region

 

September 25-26, 2010:

• Multi-breed show in Carlisle PA, hosted by the PEG

 

November 29 – December 6, 2010:

• eBay auction fundraiser with donated baskets

 

December, 2010:

• General meeting, topic on "what is that you want or would like to get from AKKAOA and the Board of Directors that you are not getting?"

 

2011

February 5 - 6, 2011:

• Multi-breed shows in Claremont, CA

 

March 13, 2011:

• Online meeting, Terry Wright discussing Nose Work

 

April 22, 2011:

• SSMAKK along with AKKAOA hosted the 2011 annual 11th AKK Specialty,  Picnic, and quarterly in-person meeting in Athens, TN.  The Great Smoky Mountain Dog Club graciously invited AKKAOA to hold this at their show site where they also held 2 MB shows. It was Lo’s last in person meeting as President and she opted to talk to the group a bit.

 

July 10, 2011:

• AKKAOA and UAKKA are in the process of making a joint Health Committee for more and better information in one place about our beautiful breed
